Full-Time | 12-Month Contract (Extension Possible)
North Queensland

An excellent opportunity is available for an Orthopaedic Registrar / Principal House Officer (PHO) to join a high-performing regional surgical service in North Queensland.

This 12-month full-time contract offers strong operative exposure, structured supervision, and the possibility of extension for the right candidate.



You will work within a busy Orthopaedic unit providing care across:

* Acute trauma
* Elective orthopaedic surgery
* Fracture clinic
* Inpatient management
* On-call roster participation

The position offers excellent exposure to a broad case mix within a well-supported team environment, making it ideal for trainees pursuing Orthopaedic Surgery or those seeking to strengthen their surgical experience.



Located in North Queensland, this facility is one of Australia’s largest and most advanced regional hospitals.

Following a $408 million redevelopment completed in 2015, the hospital expanded to:

Applicants must have:

* MBBS (or equivalent) eligible for registration with AHPRA
* PGY3 or higher (onshore candidates preferred)
* Demonstrated interest in Orthopaedics and/or career alignment with the specialty
