Position Overview:

As a Senior Technical Training Instructor, it will be your role to facilitate product and technology training in consultation with the Learning and Development function of the business. This includes planning, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of training programs for customer clinics, internal product and systems training (CDI), and internal technology solutions training within Hutcheon and Pearce.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Deliver product and technological training courses.
  • Deliver dealer certified classes as directed by John Deere.
  • Assists with the development and roll out of tailored, industry-based training programs.
  • Complete training documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all participants attend the full duration of the course.
  • Stay current on new products and technology while ensuring material is suitable for the target audience.
  • Coordinate and schedule in-house technical training.
  • Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Operate and maintain vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work tasks.
  • Act as a TECSight Field Specialist as required, to assist with product optimisation and stay up to date with the latest technology and industry changes.

The Ideal Candidate should have:

  • 2+ years of experience performing service repairs; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
  • Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
  • Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for training purposes.
  • Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
  • Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent experience required; trade qualifications are an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license essential.
