Sante Recruitment, on behalf of Top End Health Service, is seeking applications from motivated and dedicated doctors for the Basic Physician Training Program commencing February 2026.
Based at the region’s **leading tertiary referral hospital**, this Level 3 **RACP-accredited training site** offers broad clinical exposure across subspecialties and an outstanding record of success in FRACP examinations.

The Position
These **Basic Physician Trainee** roles are accredited by the **Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)** for **PREP training**, suitable for doctors in their **third postgraduate year (PGY3+) or above**, who have prior hospital-based internal medicine experience.
You’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple specialty rotations and receive structured teaching, mentorship, and exam preparation support from senior clinicians and national examiners.
Training Rotations Include:
* Cardiology & Neurology/Stroke
* Gastroenterology & Respiratory
* Haematology & Infectious Diseases
* Endocrinology & Oncology
* Palliative Care & Renal Medicine
* Acute Medical Unit & General Medicine
* Rehabilitation & Rheumatology
Academic & Exam Support
* Weekly **BPT tutorials**, **Grand Rounds**, and **Journal Clubs**
* Dedicated FRACP written and clinical exam preparation
* Supervision by experienced **RACP National Examining Panel** members
* Strong mentorship from senior physicians and advanced trainees
Selection Criteria
✅ PGY2+ with prior internal medicine experience
✅ Current **General Registration with AHPRA**, or eligibility via the **Competent Authority Pathway**
✅ Strong commitment to professional development and physician training
✅ Demonstrated clinical capability and teamwork in multidisciplinary environments
